At Studio 72 we like to keep the class sizes small to ensure we can give each client the attention required in order to stay safe and gain the most from the exercises. Pilates mats are supplied. These are thicker for comfort, however, feel free to bring your own mat if you prefer!
During the mat based pilates classes, your instructor will guide you through a range of pilates exercises providing you with a full body workout. Small props may be used in the classes, such as, gurdi balls, foam rollers, fit circles, thera bands, poles, therapy balls. Each prop has its own qualities and brings another dimension to your workout. They can be used to help with alignment, to provide increased feedback to the body, to give resistance to an exercise, to assist in an exercise or to increase the challenge of an exercise!
Each client is encouraged to work at their own pace and within their own limits. Adaptations can be given to ensure challenge within your own limitations. Throughout the course of pilates classes, you with become more aware of your own body and what it needs!
Each class finishes with relaxation exercises to reduce tension in the body and the mind and promote a sense of calm and well being.
